Obituary: Donald J. Nitz, 81, Of North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT — (From North Haven Funeral Home): Donald J. Nitz, 81, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Midstate Medical Center, Meriden with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Lois Bentley Nitz.

Donald was born in Meriden on November 19th, 1941, was the son of the late Theodore and Nellie Koblish Nitz and stepson of the late Everlyn Nitz.

Donald earned a bachelor’s degree in business from UConn, was a real estate appraiser all his life and was the owner/operator for 40 years of the Donald Nitz & Associates. Don was an MAI, in 1979 was President of the CT Chapter of the American Institute of Real estate Appraiser.

He enjoyed going to the beach, taking car rides, playing with his cats, working around his yard, but most of all, Don enjoyed watching his grandchildren playing sports and loved them all unconditionally.

Father of Jacqueline Perrotti (Massimo Baglioni), Jennifer Suraci (Brian), and Janice Orth (Daniel IV). Grandfather of Domonic and Anthony Perrotti, Ethan and Conner Suraci, Daniel V, Zachary and Emily Orth. Brother of William Nitz (Geraldine). Stepbrother of Linda Carfora (James).
