Obituary: Dorothy E. (Randall) Alexander, 73; Formerly Of North Haven

She worked as a store manager for several businesses, and was a lifelong member and officer of the North Haven/Cheshire Grange.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From B.C. Bailey Funeral Home): Dorothy Emily (Randall) Alexander, 73, of Wallingford, beloved wife of the late John Alexander, died Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden.

Emily was born in Southington on October 30, 1949 to the late Arthur and Dorothy (Fuller) Randall. She grew up in North Haven and graduated from North Haven High School.

She worked as a store manager for W.T. Grants, Woolco, K Mart, and Fazzino’s Auto Parts, and was a lifelong member and officer of the North Haven/Cheshire Grange and served many years as a member/officer of TOPS. She enjoyed Duck Pin Bowling and was part of a league for many years in Hamden.

Emily would participate in many fundraisers and volunteered her time to local community events such as the Walk for Hunger and the Trail of Terror

In addition to her parents and husband of 45 years, Emily is predeceased by her sister Nancy Honyotski, nephew Thomas Honyotski, and great-niece Nanci Honyotski. She is survived by her sisters Barbara Bouffard (Joe) of St. Albans, VT, and Heather Moomaw of Winchendon, MA, brothers Arthur Randall (Ruth) of North Haven, and Charles Randall (Trisha) of Milford, CT, as well as many nieces and nephews. Emily was a lover of animals and also leaves behind her 2 cats Princess and C.J.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at the Centerville Cemetery in Hamden. Relatives and friends may attend a visitation on Thursday evening, May 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St. Wallingford.
