Obituary: Eugene A. Saulino, 90, Of North Haven
A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a detective on the Hamden Police Department for many years and later worked at Yale British Art Center.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — (From North Haven Funeral Home): Eugene A. Saulino, 90, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael Campus. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to the late Rosemary Gianotti Saulino.
Eugene was born in New Haven on September 25, 1932 and was the son of the late Dominic and Mary Palmieri Saulino. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force.
Eugene was detective on the Hamden Police Department for many years and later worked as the head of building operations at Yale British Art Center until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, watching Westerns, cooking, eating good food and a nice glass of wine.

Eugene’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his great grandson who was the light of his life and was loved unconditionally by his Papa.
Eugene lived his best life each and every day, he will be missed by all who knew him.

Beloved father of Michele (Saulino) Hackett. Loving Papa to Jessica, Ashley, Brian (Julie DellaRocco) and Marrissa (Jon Melendez) Hackett. Great grandfather of Anthony Hackett and the late Logan Charpentier. Also survived by his sister-in-law Jean Gianotti Crisanti, niece Jean-Ann Crisanti Moore (Michael) and nephew Peter Crisanti (Aimee). Predeceased by his brother Michael Saulino and Ella (Saulino) Hanlon.
The visiting hours will be on Friday morning, Jan. 13 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
