Obituary: John Dennis Haggerty Sr., 80, Of North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT — (From North Haven Funeral Home): John Dennis Haggerty Sr., 80, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Florence Angalvich Haggerty.

John was born in Bridgeport on December 12, 1941, and was the son of the late Joseph and Frances Doohan Haggerty.

He had served on the North Haven Fire Department for 29 years until his retirement.

John enjoyed his family, fishing, was a sports enthusiast and especially liked watching the New York Yankees.

Beloved father of John D. Haggerty Jr. (Dawn) of Killingworth, Katherine Broccoli of North Haven, and Debra Feeney of Las Vegas, Nevada. Grandfather of Christopher, Steven, John (Brittany), Kenneth, Thomas, Katrina, and Kelli. Great grandfather of Dustin and Danica. Brother of William and Brian Haggerty and the late Joseph and Richard Haggerty. John was also predeceased by his son-in-law John Broccoli.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd. Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
