Joseph A. Panicali Sr., 91, of Hamden, beloved husband of the late Pauline D'Aniello Panicali, passed away on March 9, 2026 at Whitney Manor. Loving father of Joseph A. Panicali Jr. of Guilford; Mark D. (Lori) Panicali of Beverly, MA; Robert P. (Louise) Panicali of Guilford and Richard R. Panicali of CA. Joseph is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Brother of the late Alvin Panicali. Joseph was born in New Haven on July 12, 1934 son of the late Peter and Esther Pin Panicali. Before retiring, Joseph worked as a plumber and was a proud member of Union Local 777. He honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy. Family and friends are invited to a parlor service on MONDAY morning, March 16, 2026, in the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call MONDAY morning from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.
