Obituary: Myles Allen Melillo, 66, Of North Haven

A North Haven High School graduate, Myles worked as an IT Field Engineer for 45 years and won numerous awards for his excellent service.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — (From North Haven Funeral Home): Myles Allen Melillo, 66, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 26, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael Campus with his family by his side. Born in New Haven on October 21, 1955, he was the son of the late Angelo and Josephine R. Meneo Melillo.

Myles worked as an IT Field Engineer for 45 years. During the 4 generations of company take-overs, he won numerous awards for his excellent service and retained his position at Oracle up until his death. He was a 1973 North Haven High School graduate, a member of the Tomahawk Club of North Haven, and attended Milford Academy for one year where he continued playing football before obtaining his certification at the New Haven school of Electronics. He enjoyed Formula 1 Racing, loved Ferrari’s, and was a Dallas Cowboys and New York Rangers fan.

Myles was also known for being one of the only cousins who was taught the Meneo family tradition of hand tying palm crosses during the Lenten season and giving them to family and friends.

He is survived by siblings Douglas S. Melillo and his wife Joan, Audrey D. Melillo, Raymond J. Melillo, Darlene L. Melillo, his four-legged, furry pals, Stormy and Zoey, and his companion of 42 years, Patricia McCusker.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden on Tuesday morning, Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. At the family’s request, masks are required for all services.
