Obituary: Robert ‘Bob’ Zahornacky, 85; Formerly Of North Haven
A U.S. Army Veteran, Bob owned and operated Ridge and State Automotive from 1963 to 2019.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home): Robert “Bob” Zahornacky, 85, of Cheshire, passed away January 8, 2024. Born in Bridgeport, CT on September 6, 1938, he was a son of the late Andrew and Dagmar (Nelson) Zahornacky.
Bob is survived by his wife Judith (Fredericks) Zahornacky; his son Robert A. Zahornacky of Durham; his brother Richard Zorin of Georgia; and niece Judy O’Mara of East Haddam. Bob was predeceased by his brother Andrew Carl Zahornacky.
Bob owned and operated Ridge and State Automotive from 1963 to 2019. He lived in Oxford then North Haven for many years before moving to Cheshire.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 92 for many years, and was the District Commissioner for the Mattituck District Long Rivers Council Boy Scouts.
Bob enjoyed his auto sports, going to drag races, working with his son on Monster Trucks, and selling racing fuel from his station for many local racers.
