Tow Truck Driver Dies After Being Struck By Car On I-91 In North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A tow truck driver died on Interstate 91 Saturday night while assisting another vehicle, NBC CT reported.

Authorities told NBC CT that a car ended up hitting the vehicle that the tow truck driver was helping and the vehicle initially fled the scene but was stopped in Wallingford.

The tow truck driver died as a result of his injuries. His identity has not yet been released and no other details about the incident have been released.

The state Department of Transportation said the northbound side of the highway by exits 10-11 was shutdown Saturday night due to the accident.
