Police Warn Of $4.5M Lottery Scam In North Haven
Police say some North Haven residents have been notified that they won the prize... but it's a scam.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — North Haven Police are warning residents of a $4.5 million Mega Lottery Prize scam. Police say some residents have been notified that they won the prize.
“According to the ‘Vice President’ and ‘General Secretary,’ all you have to do is pay $225,000 up front to collect,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “What a deal. If you or someone you know receive a letter like the one pictured below DO NOT REPLY. Although it may feel good to be picked from the 40,000,000 people who did not play the fake lotto, it is a SCAM.”
