Ranciato-Viele Receives Two Major Endorsements

Candidate is running for state rep for 87th district

Theresa Ranciato-Viele, Democratic candidate for state representative for the 87th district, has received endorsements from two powerful statewide organizations: Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut and the Connecticut AFL-CIO.

In a letter of endorsement, Chris Corcoran, chair of Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut, wrote to Ranciato-Viele, “In the 2018 legislative session we worked with legislators to pass four pro-active policies to secure access to coverage for the ten essential benefits of the Affordable Care Act; to protect the health and dignity of people accessing health care, including those who are incarcerated; to allow pregnant women to both enroll in insurance and to exercise a living will. We are grateful that you have indicated that as a legislator you are willing to stand up for our existing state policies and to advocate for improving access to reproductive and sexual health and rights.”

According to the Connecticut AFL-CIO’s website, “the goal of the AFL-CIO’s legislative and political efforts is organizing that strength to win the good pay, retirement security, safe work environments, broad access to quality education for our children and much more. By mobilizing through the union movement’s state-level and nationwide get-out-the-vote effort, union members elect candidates who support and will enact a working families’ agenda.”
