Ranciato-Viele Is Still Talking About The Debate Negotiations
Why is this Newsworthy? Why is she still being disengenious?

Theresa Ranciato-Viele is still playing games with transparency and honesty by omitting and twisting facts about what went on behind the scenes in negotiating the debates.
She writes “I never asked for five debates.” True, she never explicitly came out and said “I challenge Mr. Yaccarino to 5 debates” but she did in fact send an email to me requesting “2 additional debates” knowing the BH Care Forum, The Chamber of Commerce Candidate Debate, and the LWV’s Debate were already in the queue or being planned.
That’s 5 debates and/or forums where a candidate can distinguish themselves from their opponent, by discussing their positions, responding to questions on critical issues, and make the case as to why they should be elected over their opponent.

Again, I question why Ranciato-Viele requires 5 such opportunities, when in the last 3 contested State Rep. election cycles, Mr.Fontana, Mr. Mead, and Mr. Gifford only required and agreed to 3 opportunities to distinguish themselves from their opponent.
She also goes on to write “I do not and never did care about what form the debate took. I only care that there is one. All of my correspondence regarding a debate makes that clear.” Which sounds truthful on the surface, except for the fact that when we declined the request for the 4th debate, we also made a counter offer. The counter offer was never responded to and, once again, that is not mentioned. By not responding to our counter offer, it was a rejection of our terms and the counter offer.

Lastly, Yes, I know I said there would be only a single response from me on this debate topic. I apologize to the Patch readership and to the 87th district's voters for having to respond to Theresa Ranciato-Viele’s lack of full transparency on this. Ask yourself, why is this being played out in detail on the North Haven Patch? Aren’t there much bigger issues to post about facing North Haven and CT? As I write this, I know I'm thinking this. Is this the type of focus and pritorization skills a candidate for State Representative should be exhibiting?
This is a direct response to Theresa Ranciato-Viele’s post on the North Haven patch on 10/5.
Sincerely,
Frank Tropeano
