
Freeman Albert, 82
Freeman Albert, 82, of 70 Nicholas Court, Hamden, formerly of Wallingford died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Lucille Pierce Albert.
Mr. Albert was born in Drummond, New Brunswick, Canada on Feb. 27, 1929, a son of the late Edmond B. and Laura Bourgoin Albert. He had resided in Wallingford for most of his life, and in Hamden for the past seven years. Mr. Albert was a conductor for AmTrak for 40 years, retiring in 1992, and was also a proud Korean War veteran.
He is survived by a daughter, Lynn (Stanley) Kohrn, of Hamden; two sons, Kevin J. (Janice) Albert, of Wallingford and Brian M. (Michele) Albert, of Killingworth; seven sisters, Leona Valdes, of Maple Valley, Wash., Arlene Albert, of Del Rey Beach, Fla., Irene (Ken) Desrosier, of Scituate, R.I., Pauline Daigle, Rita (Russell) Gendolfe and Nan (Fred) Bassett, of Providence, R.I., and Ruth Sides, of Houlton, Maine; two brothers, Ralph (Constance) Albert, of Providence and Ruben (Mae) Albert, of Bangor, Maine; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Marie Elizabeth Albert; and two brothers, Gary and Kenneth Albert.
Mr. Albert's funeral procession will leave Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Torello-Iacobucci Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Ridge Road, Hamden. Burial with military honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, Wallingford. Mr. Albert's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.

Evelyn Toelle Dean Davis
Evelyn Toelle Dean Davis, 97, of Wright Residence, Masonic Home, Wallingford formerly of North Haven passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Masonic Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late John L. Davis.
Mrs. Davis was born in Wallingford on April 25, 1914, daughter of the late Walter H. and Elsie Allen Toelle. A resident of North Haven for many years, she moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., 1982-1985 and Roswell, Ga., 1991-2007 before returning to Wallingford. She was retired from Plymouth Electric Co. in North Haven and had previously worked for many years at H.L. Judd Co. (Stanley Judd,) in Wallingford. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Wallingford for many of her early years. She later taught Sunday school and was a member of the Montowese Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis enjoyed playing piano and organ and often entertained fellow residents at the Masonic Home and at her senior dwellings in Georgia.
She leaves three sons, C. Robert Dean, of Carrolton, Texas, Ron W. Dean, of Acworth, Ga., and Alan Davis, of North Haven; a daughter, Susan Wiatrak, of Middletown; a sister, Pearl Zesk, of Wallingford; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles L. Dean; granddaughter, Laurie Dean; brother, Clayton Toelle; and three sisters, Bernice "Bunny" Berniere, Henrietta "Netta" Woblesky, and Arlene Crocker.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Saturday, Aug. 6, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J.P. Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday, Aug. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Masonicare, 22 Masonic Ave., Wallingford, CT 06492.
