Carmela "Millie" Savino Piscitelli, 99

In Hamden, September 2, 2011, Carmela "Millie" Savino Piscitelli, 99, of Whitney Ave., formerly of North Haven, and prior to that, West Haven.

Loving mother of Lynn (Madeline) Weed and her husband Joseph. Also survived by a step-son Robert Piscitelli and his wife Cheryl, and her cherished grandchildren, Lynn Ann Feder and her husband Michael, Joanne Weed and her fiancee Alan Raia and a great-granddaughter Isabella Feder.

Her funeral will leave Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Wednesday at 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. The family will received friends Tuesday from 5-7 pm.

Richard Candido, 61

Richard Candido, 61, of  Branford died suddenly September 1, 2011 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is the father of Lisa Candido of Branford and Richard (Chip) Candido of Walingford. Brother of Mary Ann (Ralph) Santora of North Haven and Nicholas Candido of Branford with whom he resided. Grandfather of Emily, Alexa and Kaya Candido and Kyle Zumsteg.

Richard was born in New Haven May 25, 1950 a son of Alfred J. Candido of North Haven and the late Margaret Ardolino Candido. He was a Navy veteran and had worked in the distribution center for the US Postal Service for 18 years. Richard was a gifted and talented athlete as a young man and was an avid golfer, Yankee fan and well known jokester.

Funeral from the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME, INC. . Tuesday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese Church at 10. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4-7pm. Doris M. Koepke, 89

Doris M. Koepke, 89, of North Haven passed away August 29, 2011 after a brief illness.

She was born in New Haven May 15, 1922 a daughter of the late Leon M. and Florence Steele Humphrey, and resided in West Haven for many years before moving to North Haven.

She was employed at the Federal Paper Board Co. and later the Poly Tube Co. of Hamden before retiring in 1984. Doris was a wonderful seamstress, enjoyed needlepoint, crewel, puzzle books, nature, and was known for her love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Judith L. Jennette of North Haven, a son Wayne R. Koepke of West Haven, 5 grandchildren, Vicki Koepke, Sean Corenki, Brian Koepke, Renee Corenki, Lauren Jennette, and 3 great-grandchildren, Chelsea Verda, Bruce Koepke, and Sofia Bobko. Doris was predeceased by her brother Leon M. Humphrey. 

Friends may visit with her family Thursday Sept. 1, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at the BEECHER & BENNETT -TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven. Funeral service will be Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The United Methodist Church, 811 East Main St., Branford, CT 06405 or Animal Haven, 89 Mill Rd., North Haven, CT 06473.
