North Haven Housing Authority Chairman Ralph W. Cook IV, 49, a North Haven resident, has been arrested on sexual assault charges, according to WTNH.

WTNH reports that Cook has been the subject of a year-long investigation.

North Haven police have confirmed that Ralph Cook was arrested Tuesday morning, Nov. 18, on a warrant for an Oct. 2013 incident at his Mountain Brook Road home.

Police said that an invited guest reported that while attending the party, Cook had forced this individual to perform sexual acts.

Investigators executed a search and seizure warrant at Cook’s home collecting evidence of the assault.

At the conclusion of the investigation, which included extensive DNA analysis performed at the Connecticut State Laboratory, an arrest warrant was obtained.

Cook was charged with first-degree sexual assault and unlawful restraint. Cook is being held on a $250,000 court set bond. He will be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court.
