Report: Town Fair Tire Eyeing Former Rustic Oak Restaurant Property
The plan has been met with opposition from some North Haven residents.

Town Fair Tire is looking to buy the former Rustic Oak restaurant property on Washington Avenue but the plan has received opposition from residents and local leaders who are against the removal of historic oak trees and want to see another restaurant at the site, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.
The Record-Journal also reports Portofino’s Restaurant & Bar in New Haven considered purchasing the property but balked at the $1.59 million asking price.
Town Fair Tire currently has a location in the Stop & Shop Plaza on Washington Avenue but is looking for a bigger facility because it only has two tire bays, compared to five at other locations, according to the Record-Journal.
