Road Closure Announced In North Haven

Police are advising motorists of a road closure that will be in effect for the next two weekends due to a construction project.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Police are advising motorists of a road closure that will be in effect this weekend due to a construction project. Sackett Point Road between Universal Drive and State Street will be closed for several hours for the next two weekends.

Due to construction and the maintenance of the Amtrak rail crossing on Sackett Point Road, the roadway will be closed to traffic between Universal Drive and State Street on the following dates:

  • Saturday, Sept. 14 from 8 p.m. to 12 noon on Sunday, Sept. 15.
  • Saturday, Sept. 21 from 8 p.m. to 12 noon on Sunday, Sept. 22.

Police are suggesting the following alternate traffic routes to bypass the rail crossing:

  • From west side of town to the center and east side of town; consider using State Street to Broadway, Broadway to Elm Street to Sackett Point Road.
  • From the east side and center of town to the west side of town; consider using Elm Street to Broadway, and Broadway to State Street.
