Road Closure Announced In North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Washington Avenue (Route 5) between I-91 and Clintonville Road (Route 22) in North Haven will be closed around 3 p.m. due to a large police presence, police announced Friday.

Police are advising motorists to avoid the area, if possible.

“This road closure is to pay respect to fallen Police Sergeant Dustin Demonte as he is escorted to the North Haven Funeral Home,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Please keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers as our community mourns with them, the Bristol Police Department, and the law enforcement community.”
