NORTH HAVEN, CT — Part of Montowese Avenue in North Haven is closed due to a rollover crash involving a tractor-trailer on Wednesday morning, according to fire officials. Officials said Montowese Avenue at Exit 9 remained closed in all directions Wednesday afternoon due to the accident. The North Haven fire and police departments, along with Nelson Ambulance, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and Connecticut State Police, responded to the scene around 8 a.m. "The trailer was carrying non-hazardous contents although the diesel tanks ruptured and spilled onto the roadway," officials wrote on the North Haven Fire Department's <a href="https://www.facebook.com/NorthHavenFD" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Facebook page</a>. "The driver self extricated and was treated for minor injuries." This story will be updated when more information is available.
