Runway for Wishes raises $20,000 for Make-A-Wish Connecticut

1st annual fashion show a great success

Runway for Wishes took place Saturday June 6th at 5PM at Mercedes-Benz of North Haven. Sponsored by Mercedes Benz of North Haven and Adesso Moda Salon, sixteen Wish Kids “rocked the runway” in an evening of fashion and style. Guests dined on wine, cheese, and other assortments that were made available. The fashion show was a great success with an attendance of over 100 people. Make-A-Wish Connecticut received more than $10,000 in donations through the event. And following the fashion show, an additional gift was generously donated by Mercedes-Benz of North Haven, and the event is proud to announce that is has raised over $20,000 for Make-A-Wish Connecticut.

Chauffeured to a red carpet by the most luxurious Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the members of the fashion show were welcomed by a mob of cheering fans with signs. Paparazzi complimented this celebrity-like experience. The Wish Kids proceeded to rock the runway with fashions provided by Camouflage, LLC. During the two-phased fashion show, the group owned the attention of the crowd.

“It was an honor to host such an incredible fundraiser that not only showcased the amazing talents of our partner sponsors Adesso Moda Salon and fashions by Camouflage, but also featured the dedication and passion of so many Wish Kids who have a desire to pay it forward to the next child who will be granted a wish thanks to their efforts,” commented Adam Fox of Mercedes Benz or North Haven. “We are honored to have been a part of this type of experience with the public and with these inspirational Wish Kids, a style of event that has never been done before here in Connecticut, and look forward to supporting making wishes come true in the future.”

The average cost of a wish in Connecticut is $10,000, and thanks to the Runway for Wishes, two more Connecticut children will see their wishes become a reality! Our new relationship with Mercedes-Benz of North Haven and Adesso Moda Salon has helped us to engage not only so many wish families but an entire community. We are eager to work with them again soon!”

About Make-A-Wish® Connecticut

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Connecticut grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Wish-come-true experiences can do wonders by providing a much-needed break from lengthy hospital stays and medical treatments. They give back to a child what a serious medical condition can take away—the chance to simply enjoy being a kid. Wish kids choose something that will inspire happiness and will allow them to spend precious time with their families. The Connecticut chapter has made over 2,500 wishes come true since its inception in 1986.
