Serial Robber Caught After Armed Robbery in North Haven: Police

The man, who is a suspect in several other incidents in other towns, robbed a gas station at gunpoint Tuesday morning, according to police.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A suspect in several robberies is in custody following an armed robbery in North Haven on Tuesday morning, according to police.

At about 8 a.m. on Jan. 31, a black male entered the Shell Gas Station on State Street in North Haven armed with a black handgun, according to police.

Police said the man pointed the gun at the gas station employee and demanded money. He fled in a stolen Subaru SUV with an undetermined amount of cash.

Detectives identified the suspect, who police said was also wanted by other law enforcement agencies for similar incidents.

“With the assistance of the New Haven Police Department, the stolen Subaru was located in a driveway in New Haven,” North Haven Police said in a press release. “Just prior to 11:30 a.m., the suspect attempted to flee the area in the stolen vehicle. He was taken into custody and charged with a host of crimes.”

Police said the investigation is ongoing and the suspect, whose name wasn’t immediately released, will be charged with first-degree robbery and larceny along with the crimes he is accused of committing in other jurisdictions.
