Social Media Post Prompts Police Investigation In North Haven: PD
Police investigated a social media post involving a student holding what appeared to be a gun, according to officials.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A social media post involving a North Haven High School student holding what appeared to be a gun prompted an investigation on Tuesday, according to police.
A North Haven Police school resource officer assigned to North Haven High School was advised about the social media post, and school administrators, along with police at headquarters were notified.
Police said the student, who was not in school, was quickly found.

“Contact was made with the student and their parent / guardian, and it was determined the firearm was a BB gun,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “No threats to any individuals or the school were made, and no arrest(s) occurred.
“We thank the North Haven High School staff, Board of Education, and High School SRO's for their quick work. Lastly, we thank the anonymous individual who brought this photo to the SRO's attention. We encourage all members of the community, and our student body, to report anything they may believe to be suspicious.”
