Spring Into Sports: Where To Sign Up And Play In North Haven

Local leagues and programs across North Haven are offering opportunities for all ages to get out and play this season.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — With warmer days ahead, it’s a great time to get outside and stay active. Around North Haven, many local leagues and programs are opening registration for the season. To help you get started, we’ve gathered a few resources where you can find more details and sign up — consider this a starting point as you explore what’s available in the community.

Youth Sports

Families in North Haven have several options when it comes to youth sports leagues and programs throughout the year.

Max Sinoway Little League: Currently celebrating its 75th season, the league offers seven divisions with ages ranging from 4 (T-Ball) to 19 (Sr. Babe Ruth). “We sponsor, run and manage our Little League, Babe Ruth and Advanced Baseball Programs. Our programs are offered throughout each season (spring, summer, fall) as well as winter clinics and developmental programs.”

North Haven Girls Softball League: The league offers recreational divisions for U8, U10, U12, and U14 in the spring season (mid-April through the end of June), Travel Ball for U10, U12, U14, for spring and fall seasons, and Indoor Winter Clinics for ages 7 through 14 (8-week session). Registration is closed for the spring season, but check back for the fall season.

North Haven Lacrosse Club: The club supports boys and girls youth lacrosse in North Haven, and is a member of the Connecticut-New York Lacrosse Association (CONNY), the organizing body for youth lacrosse in Connecticut.

North Haven Soccer Club: The club offers several programs, including Kick-Start, Clinic, U7-8, U9-10, In-Town Program, U-9/10 Step Up, U-10 Developmental, U11-15, Travel Programs, U16-19, Winter Clinics, and Summer Camp.

North Haven Youth Football & Cheer: The league offers football and cheerleading programs for grades kindergarten through eight. Programs include tackle football, flag football, sideline cheerleading, and competitive cheerleading. Registration opened for all programs on April 1.

North Haven Youth Basketball: North Haven Youth Basketball offers both in-town and travel basketball programs to all North Haven boys and girls from grades 1 through 8.

Adult Leagues & Recreational Sports

Adults looking to stay active can also find opportunities to play and connect through local leagues and recreation programs.

North Haven Parks & Recreation: The recreation department offers an array of recreational programs and leisure activities designed for all ages and abilities. The Walter J. Gawrych Community Pool offers annual pool memberships, swim lessons and programs for all ages. The department's summer brochure can be found here.

North Haven Health & Racquet: Programs include pickleball, tennis, racquetball and indoor basktball.

Connecticut Sportsplex: Offers baseball, softball, soccer and football, in addition to other activities, for the whole family.
