Suspected Car Thief Had Heroin in Vehicle: North Haven Police

The man was arrested after a traffic stop early Tuesday morning in which police learned the vehicle had been reported stolen: BREAKING

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Marlborough man faces several charges after North Haven Police say he was operating a stolen vehicle and had heroin and packaging material inside the vehicle.

North Haven police officers were conducting motor vehicle enforcement efforts on State Street on Tuesday morning (Sept. 13).

At about 6 a.m., officers observed a motor vehicle violation and conducted a traffic stop. Police learned the vehicle was reported stolen and the operator was taken into custody.

The investigating officer located heroin and packaging material inside of the vehicle, according to police.

Jesse Bellobuono, 31, of Marlborough, Connecticut, was arrested and charged with second-degree larceny, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to obey a control signal. He was held on a $5,000 bond and will be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court.
