These past few years have been difficult on our country. Those who we trusted to do right by us have mostly opted for personal success and destructive power. If you see that members are joining the college republicans only to build their resume, or to chase after a “House of Cards” lifestyle, please remind them of the nearest exits and ask them to leave. Ask them to come back when they finally realize what being apart of the College Republicans is really all about.
When we revived this club back in 2012 we had hoped to create something. A Club that could be held to a higher standard than an extra curricular activity. We wished to spread the truth through CT. And we wanted to present it.....un-varnished. Being involved in the political process, and assuming the roles of leaders is a responsibility and a privilege. And it is not exploitable. The CT college republicans have earned this privilege. Some in this state think they can just BUY it.
As your chairman, I urge you to agree....now is the time to decide what sort of organization we want to be. Are we a social club of conservatives who only wish to climb the ladder and wear suits to fancy dinners? Or are we something more? I believe we are a faction of the last line of defense for our nation. It is our job to help honest candidates, network, volunteer our time to spread the word of less government, and stand up for our fellow classmates who attend very liberal universities. If you take issue with this, than please speak up now and feel free to rebut. If not, then get ready to rise above all the noise and start helping our country get back on its feet......any way we can.
