Teen, 18, Burglarized Business In North Haven: Police

The suspect used a set of bolt cutters to break into the building and was found inside a restroom by officers, according to police.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — An 18-year-old Hamden resident was arrested Wednesday in connection with the burglary of a storage facility in North Haven, according to police.

North Haven police responded on April 8 to a report of a commercial burglary at a storage facility on Washington Avenue.

Officers were told that a suspect dressed in all black had broken into the building using bolt cutters and was believed to be inside the business, according to police.

Police said officers conducted a search of the building and found a set of bolt cutters, along with a man inside a restroom.

The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Mohamed Souare of Hamden, according to police.

Police said officers issued verbal commands for him to exit, and he was subsequently taken into custody.

Souare was arrested on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, possession of burglar tools, and interfering with an officer.
