Theft Suspect Found Hiding In Fitness Center Bathroom: Police

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A suspect who was believed to be involved with numerous thefts across the state was found hiding in a bathroom stall at a fitness center in North Haven on Tuesday afternoon, according to police. The suspect was identified as 55-year-old Steven Finkler, according to police.

Police said Finkler was found to be using a membership card under a false name, along with other items used to scan/skim credit cards. Finkler was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation, criminal attempt to commit illegal use of credit card, criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny and possession of burglary tools.

Finkler was subsequently released after posting $20,000 bond, police said.
