Threatening Letter, Mailbox Vandalism Due To Politics, Woman Says

A North Haven woman claims she received an intimidating letter and her mailbox was vandalized because she spoke out over town politics.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A North Haven woman says she will continue to speak out on town politics despite a recent effort to intimidate her, according to the New Haven Register. Danielle Morfi told the Register that she received a threatening letter and her mailbox was vandalized on Nov. 19, soon after the Board of Selectman debated, and ultimately rejected, her appointment to the town’s Community Service Commission.

The letter referenced her Freedom of Information complaint against the town that she filed while she argued against the installation of an artificial turf athletic field at North Haven Middle School, according to the Register.

The anonymous letter describes an unspecified group of people who say they’ve “had enough” of her “unapologetic attitude towards everyone,” according to the Meriden Record-Journal. The letter also states that they’ve been watching her for the “past months and your comments and actions have not only embarrassed us as a group, but you have embarrassed your family,” the Record-Journal reports.
