Tractor-Trailer Fire Investigated As Arson In North Haven: Officials

A tractor-trailer was fully engulfed in flames and several other nearby trucks were lit on fire Friday night in North Haven, officials said.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A fire involving several trucks late Friday night in North Haven is being investigated as arson, according to officials.

Firefighters responded to Powdered Metal Drive around 11:30 p.m. on May 6 on the report of an explosion with visible fire, according to fire officials.

Officials said the original 911 call was reported by a resident on Frost Drive. Firefighters arrived at a business and found a tractor-trailer fully involved with fire, according to officials.

“The preliminary investigation revealed several other trucks nearby were lit on fire and/or doused with a flammable substance,” officials wrote in a post on the North Haven Fire Department’s Facebook page. “The North Haven Fire Department is investigating this incident as an arson case along with the North Haven Police Department.”
