Trading Bee Costume for Bartender's Apron

The president of The North Haven Education Foundation, Inc. raises funds by "charity bar-tending".

Bernie Pellegrino, the president of The North Haven Education Foundation, Inc., recently announced that he may have found a new vocation. Seeking financial support for the foundation, he contacted friends and acquaintances stating, “My colleagues at The Pellegrino Law Firm have nominated me as a Guest Bartender at The Tavern located at 124 Temple Street in New Haven.”

The event took place on Thursday evening, March 10th, offering half-priced drink and pizza specials for attendees. For the second time, the foundation president will also co-emcee the NHEF’s Adult Spelling Bee and wear a bee costume on April 28th slated to begin at 6 pm at the high school with free pizza and other refreshments. Admission for the fun evening is also free.

Signing his e-mail as Bartender Bernie, he added, “In addition to getting to watch me run around and serve you that evening, you may be motivated to attend because I have agreed to donate any tips that you might throw my way for outstanding service for the benefit of The North Haven Education Foundation, Inc.”
