UPDATE: Dump Truck 'Loses Brakes,' Strikes Several Vehicles in North Haven

Police said several people were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

UPDATE: Several people were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries after a dump truck struck three vehicles on Skiff Street Wednesday morning, according to North Haven Police.

Police said that at about 9:53 a.m., a dump truck traveling east on Skiff Street struck three vehicles and caused several minor injuries.

The initial callers reported that a dump truck “lost his brakes” and went through the intersection striking several vehicles, according to police.

A portion of State Street, as well as a portion of Skiff Street, was closed for about an hour while officers conducted an investigation.

All of the roadways are now open and the Connecticut State Police Truck Squad is assisting in the investigation, police said.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — North Haven Police are on the scene of a motor vehicle collision in the area of State Street and Skiff Street.

Police are advising motorists to use caution and be aware of potential road closures and traffic delays.
