Unitarian Universalist Church in Meriden Worship Service - October 18, 2015

October 18 – 10:30 AM – "Communing in Solitude" Worship Leader: Rev. Dr. Jan Carlsson-Bull Worship Associate: John Sepples

How often have we heard “Nature is my church” in response to an invitation to come to church? I wonder what is non-natural about gathering in the sanctuary of this congregation and breathing, singing, sharing stories, holding silence, and gazing out on a landscape brilliant with the hues of autumn. Then again, we understand that the person is saying s/he needs to be “in nature outdoors” and probably in solitude to feel proximity to the sacred. Where is the solitude in our gathered community?
