Behold a harvest moon or, as the iconic character Linus, would have it, “The Great Pumpkin!” The Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch as the moon rises in the night sky. We know scientifically that moonlight is sunlight reflected. We know that a harvest moon is a form of a super moon, with an orange cast and appearing much larger than it does on other nights. Light reflected holds a mystique that morphs into legends and invites superstitions that morph into beliefs. Let’s reflect together on how this is so.
