“The first responding officer, Angel Aviles, was working his first shift alone after completing his field training program the day prior,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Aviles quickly administered Naloxone (Narcan), and begin CPR. Shortly after, a second North Haven officer, Dennis Flanagan, arrived in scene. Flanagan, who acts as a field training officer and had trained Aviles during his field training phase, administered a second dose of Narcan while Aviles continued with CPR.

“The victim regained a pulse and care was transferred to Fire personnel upon their arrival. The victim regained consciousness and is now in contact with individuals to receive care / treatment. This incident highlights what can be done with a quick response, proper equipment, and calmness under pressure. Great work by Ofc. Aviles and Flanagan, as well as others on scene who assisted.”
