Vehicle Abandoned In North Haven Tied To New Haven Homicide: Police
The vehicle was found Tuesday evening near Warner Road and Middletown Avenue.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A vehicle abandoned in North Haven on Tuesday is being investigated for its possible involvement in a shooting homicide in New Haven and other crimes, according to North Haven police.
The vehicle was found at about 6:30 p.m. near Warner Road and Middletown Avenue, and it had minor damage. Police did not disclose the type of vehicle.
"Once on scene, officers determined the vehicle matched the description of a wanted vehicle the New Haven Police were looking for, which was involved in a shooting homicide earlier in the day," North Haven police wrote on Facebook. "New Haven Police were contacted and responded to recover the vehicle."

During the investigation, North Haven also learned that the vehicle had been in the Hartley Street/Garfield Avenue area at about 4 a.m. on Tuesday, at which time at least three occupants were trying to break into parked vehicles in that area, according to police.
"As always, we encourage our community to contact us whenever they see suspicious activity and remind them of the dangerous people they may encounter if they confront them," North Haven police said. "Be smart. Be safe."
