Veteran North Haven Coach Named Inaugural Track & Field Coach At Albertus Magnus College

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Veteran area coach Nancy Schreiber has been named as the inaugural head women's and men's indoor and outdoor track and field coach at Albertus Magnus College, Athletic Director Michael Kobylanski announced Monday.

The Falcons will begin their inaugural campaign during the 2027-28 academic year. Schreiber will begin immediately to recruit and coordinate logistics for the launch season, according to a news release.

“I am thrilled to introduce Nancy as our inaugural head coach,” Kobylanski said. “She has a decorated record of success at both the collegiate and high school levels. Furthermore, her connections and knowledge of Greater New Haven and the state landscape will be an immediate asset as she steps into this role.”

Her collegiate background includes time as the head women's cross country coach at Southern Connecticut State University, where she also served as assistant women's track and field coach.

During her time with the Owls, the women's cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field teams ranked among the tops in the NE-10. Angela Brown also set the school record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and was a two-time NCAA qualifier under her tutelage, according to the news release. Kateema Riettie was also an All-American javelin thrower under her direction.

As the head girls' track and field coach at North Haven High, Schreiber's squad won the Class MM outdoor championship.

As a scholastic coach, she has “mentored numerous individual qualifiers for the New England Championships and Nationals – most recently Stella Shaw, who earned All-American status in triple jump at the 2026 Adidas Outdoor Nationals,” according to the news release.

“It is an honor and privilege to have been selected as the inaugural head coach,” Schreiber said. “I have worked with many knowledgeable coaches over the years and it is my hope to take all that I have learned from them to develop a program that will bring pride to Albertus Magnus athletics.”

She also previously served as head coach at Franklin High (N.H.). Her assistant coaching roles have included stops locally at Lyman Hall High School, North Haven High School and Sacred Heart Academy.

Schreiber, who competed collegiately in multiple disciplines over a four-year career at Southern Connecticut State, earned bachelor's and master's degrees, along with a 6th-year certification, from SCSU.
