NORTH HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting on Dixwell Avenue in North Haven over the weekend.
North Haven police said in an update Monday that Davonte Warren, 28, was shot and killed near the intersection of Dixwell Avenue and the entrance to the Route 40 Connector Eastbound on Saturday morning.
The shooting death is being investigated as a homicide.

North Haven police received multiple 911 calls around 11:20 a.m. on July 17 reporting shots fired.
Police said shots were fired from one vehicle into a second car. A victim was found in a vehicle a short distance away, having sustained a gunshot wound, police said.

Warren was later pronounced dead at the scene by tending paramedics, according to police. The Connecticut State Police are assisting with the investigation.
