West Haven Man Arrested After Engaging North Haven Police in Pursuit

The man faces several charges following the early Friday morning incident.

A West Haven man faces several charges after leading officers on a pursuit early Friday morning.

Michael McWade, 27, of West Haven, was arrested with the help of the West Haven Police Department and taken into custody without incident, according to a police press release.

Police said an officer observed an occupied vehicle within the parking lot of the Montowese Fire Station on Quinnipiac Avenue at 1:53 a.m. on Jan. 9.

During this investigative stop, the vehicle fled and entered I-91. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, which was operated by McWade, who failed to stop and continued to travel recklessly, according to police.

Officers terminated the pursuit and requested West Haven PD respond to McWade’s residence. He was located and taken into custody without incident.

McWade was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, reckless driving and engaging an officer in pursuit. He was held on a $2,500 bond pending a Meriden Superior Court appearance.
