West Haven Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges in North Haven

Thurman McDuffie-Patterson was arrested following an eight-month investigation.

North Haven police arrested a 36-year-old West Haven man Thursday for possessing more than 1,000 images of child pornography and nine videos of children engaged in sex acts on his iPhone, according to a police press release.

Thurman McDuffie-Patterson was arrested following an eight-month investigation by North Haven Police Detectives.

Police said that in April, detectives began an investigation after a North Haven business discovered that an employee had suspected child pornography on his iPhone.

Several search and seizure warrants were executed and additional computer equipment was seized from McDuffie-Patterson’s West Haven residence.

Police said examinations conducted by the Connecticut Computer Crimes Electronic Evidence Laboratory revealed that the phone, computers and other storage devices held more than 1,000 images of child pornography as well as nine videos of children engaged in sex acts.

Patterson was arrested on charges of importing child pornography and possession of child pornography. He is being held on a $5,000 bond pending an arraignment in Meriden Superior Court.
