What ever happened to Banton Street?

Come learn how the North Haven community of forty-two families became the fifteen-acre Quinnipiac River State Park. April 13 5:45-8pm

WHEN: April 13, 2015 from 5:45pm to 8:00pm
WHERE: Mitchell Library, 37 Harrison Street, Westville Village, New Haven, CT 06515

ABOUT: Until the flood of February 1973, forty-two families lived and played on fifteen acres along the Quinnipiac River in North Haven, Connecticut. After three days of heavy rain in this flood plain, it became clear to state and city officials that something had to be done. To their credit, state authorites recognized their part in this situation and quickly found a way to help these people move to higher ground, both physically and metaphorically.

Come learn about those efforts from then State Senator DeNardis himself along with then Second Selectman Howard L. Luppi and hear from former residents what life was like before and after the 1973 flood.
