Woman High on PCP Steals Car from North Haven Gas Station: Police
The man ran into the store and left the keys on the floor when the accused walked by and allegedly stole the car, police said.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A New Haven woman is accused of stealing a car from a local gas station in North Haven and was apprehended with the help of the Cheshire Police Department, police said.
North Haven police said at 11:55 a.m. Sunday, a man reported his vehicle was stolen from the Valero Gas Station at 224 Quinnipiac Avenue.
The man stated he entered the store leaving the keys on the vehicle’s floor. When he returned, the vehicle was gone, police said.

Officers attempted to check the area and sent a broadcast to surrounding agencies. A short time later, Cheshire Police was investigation a report of erratic operation, police said.
They located the stolen vehicle traveling on Rt. 10 in Cheshire, police said. Once stopped, the operator, who was later identified as Jessica Mott, 29, from New Haven, immediately claimed the vehicle was not stolen, police said.

She stated it belonged to her boyfriend, who she could not name, police said. Mott was detained by Cheshire Police, and taken into custody by North Haven Officers.
Mott later stated she was under the influence of PCP, and she was walking down Quinnipiac Avenue, police said.
As she approached the Valero Gas Station she observed the vehicle parked with the engine running, police said. Mott was charged with the theft and will be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on July 21, 2016.
