1 Person Displaced By Norwalk House Fire: FD
Fire officials said one person was displaced by a house fire in Norwalk that caused smoke damage to the home.

NORWALK, CT — One person was displaced by a house fire that broke out Friday morning on Clinton Avenue, according to the Norwalk Fire Department.
In a news release, Assistant Chief Timothy Reardon said the fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. at a 1.5-story "cape style" home.
When crews arrived in the area, they found smoke coming from the gable ends, as well as the eaves of the home, Reardon said.

Crews then walked around the house and found the fire was on the first floor in the back of the home, according to Reardon.
A handline was quickly stretch through the front door to the kitchen area, which was on fire and spreading, Reardon said.

Firefighters then simultaneously vented the kitchen windows, stretched a line to the floor above to cut off any extension and conducted a search of the building, according to Reardon.
The fire was held to the first floor kitchen area, however there was smoke damage throughout the home, Reardon said.
No injuries were reported. One person was displaced as a result of the fire, according to Reardon.
The Norwalk Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire, Reardon said.
