10 Displaced By Fire At 30-Unit Condo Complex In Norwalk: FD

Fire officials said 10 people were displaced by the fire and some small pets were also rescued.

NORWALK, CT — Ten people were displaced by a fire that broke out Sunday at a 30-unit condominium complex in Norwalk, according to fire officials.

In a news release, Deputy Chief Steve Shay said the fire was reported around 11:45 a.m. at 296 Main Avenue.

When crews arrived, fire could be seen coming from the balconies of two units. Residents of both apartments were not home at the time of the fire, Shay said.

After the fire was extinguished, both units were determined to be unfit for occupancy. Some apartments below those units were also damaged, Shay said.

No injuries were reported and some small pets were also rescued, Shay said.

Ten occupants were displaced as a result of the blaze, however the American Red Cross provided them with housing, Shay said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
