10 Residents, 1 Dog Displaced By House Fire: Norwalk FD
Ten residents and one dog were all displaced after a fire broke out at a two-story house consisting of three apartments in Norwalk.
NORWALK, CT — Ten residents and one dog were all displaced by a house fire that broke out Tuesday night in Norwalk, according to fire officials.
In a news release, Deputy Fire Chief Steve Shay said crews were called to a two-story Center Avenue house consisting of three apartments, where fire could be seen through the first floor windows.
All ten residents and a dog were displaced as of Tuesday night, according to Shay. No injuries were reported.

The house was declared unfit for occupancy, Shay said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The American Red Cross is helping one family of four adults after the fire by providing assistance to meet the family's immediate needs.

According to the organization, the Red Cross also provided a recovery envelope containing information helpful to families recovering from a fire, including tips on cleanup, notification of important contacts, dealing with damaged items and more.
The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a resident might need when suddenly displaced from their home by a fire, according to the organization.
