2 Brush Fires Break Out On Merritt Parkway In Norwalk: FD

Fire officials said crews extinguished two separate brush fires burning a few hundred feet apart​ from each on the Merritt Parkway.

NORWALK, CT — Firefighters extinguished two brush fires that broke out Tuesday afternoon on the Merritt Parkway in Norwalk, according to fire officials.

In a news release, Deputy Fire Chief Jonathan Maggio said two separate brush fires burning a few hundred feet apart from each other were reported around noon between exits 41 and 40 on the southbound side of the parkway.

Crews from both Norwalk and Westport extinguished the brush fires within approximately 10 minutes, according to Maggio.
