Police said two men posed as city employees to distract an elderly couple while an accomplice entered their Norwalk home and stole items.

NORWALK, CT — Two men posed as city employees to distract an elderly couple while an accomplice entered their Norwalk home and stole items Wednesday, according to police.
In a news release, Police Lt. Tomasz Podgorski said the elderly residents reported two men approached them outside their Coventry Place home. The men claimed to be city employees and told the residents they needed to check property lines in the backyard.
According to Podgorski a third accomplice entered the home and stole jewelry while the two men distracted the elderly residents. The men communicated with the accomplice via walkie talkies and left the home in a silver Dodge crew cab pickup truck.
