2nd Murder Arrest In Days For Norwalk Police

Friday's arrest was in connection with a July 2017 homicide on Ely Avenue in South Norwalk.

NORWALK, CT — A 21-year-old Norwalk man was arrested on a murder charge Friday in connection with the July 20, 2017, shooting death of 26-year-old Johnny Lezeau, according to Norwalk police.

Jermaine Scott, of Woodward Avenue, was arrested on a warrant, but the circumstances surrounding the arrest were not released because the warrant was sealed.

"The arrest stems from an investigation conducted by the Detective Bureau into the murder of Mr. Lezeau, which occurred on July 20, 2017 on Ely Avenue," wrote Norwalk police in a statement.

Officers found Lezeau, who was suffering from life-threatening wounds, at about 7:45 p.m. on the 20th. He was transported to Norwalk Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Scott's bail was set at $1 million and he remains in custody. He is due to appear in court this month.

The Scott case marks the Norwalk department's second murder arrest in as many days, following the Thursday arrest of Bridgeport resident David McBride, 33, in connection with the Feb. 3, 2010, killing of Karl Savage.
