NORWALK, CT — Three people were arrested on Wednesday afternoon on weapons and narcotics charges after a Norwalk police officer spotted what the department called a "suspicious vehicle" in the Walmart parking lot on Connecticut Avenue. A search of the vehicle turned up a stash of 131 grams of marijuana packaged for sale, a rifle, a handgun and other weapons, according to police.
The incident began at about 5:30 p.m., and the officer smelled marijuana coming the vehicle as the officer approached.
While speaking with the occupants, one of them retrieved a bag of marijuana and gave it to the officer, and told the officer there were firearms in the vehicle, police said.
