40-Year-Old Cold Case of 14-Year-Old Norwalk Teen Last Seen with Biker Gang Still Unsolved: Report
Norwalk Police followed a lead that led them to the Charter Oaks Motorcycle Club in Bethel in 1976, however the missing teen was never found

NORWALK, CT-- Norwalk Police are still looking for clues related to a 14-year-old girl who went missing in 1976, NBC CT reports.
A Norwalk police reports states:
"On the afternoon of February 12, 1976 Maria Anjiras had an argument with her father and left their house on her bike. Her bike was later found in front of her girlfriend’s house approximately one half mile away. Over the next several weeks, there were several sightings of Maria in Norwalk at fast food restaurants. The investigation led to Maria being seen in front of the Charter Oak Motorcycle Club on Greenwood Avenue, Bethel CT in August of 1976. More recent information revealed that Maria may have been with a Charter Oak member known as Pepe.”
Danbury police told Norwalk police in 1976 that a girl named Maria was being detained and later found a report of a teenage runaway whose name was also Maria got into a fight with a girl who hung around the bikers at a Danbury bar, according to an NBC CT report. Police found the girl who Maria allegedly fought with in a Bethel High School yearbook, however she told police she has no memory of Maria.
