5 Norwalk Public Schools To Dismiss Early Again On Thursday

High temperatures are expected to continue over the next couple of days, according to the National Weather Service.

NORWALK, CT — Due to the extreme heat impacting the region, Norwalk Public Schools has announced five schools will have an early dismissal again on Thursday.

District officials said on Facebook students and staff at five schools will be dismissed early due to limited air conditioning in their buildings following a similar early dismissal Wednesday.

The following schools will have a two-hour early dismissal Thursday, according to Norwalk Public Schools:

  • Naramake Elementary School
  • Rowayton Elementary School
  • Tracey Magnet School
  • West Rocks Middle School
  • Wolfpit Integrated Arts School

"We encourage all families to continue having their children dress in light, loose-fitting clothing and to bring a water bottle to school to stay hydrated throughout the day," district officials said on Facebook.

The district will also continue to monitor weather conditions this week and follow guidelines set by the state Department of Public Health. Families will be notified of any further changes.
