5 Teens Charged In Burglary Attempt: Norwalk PD

Norwalk police said five teenagers, two of which were juveniles, have been charged in a recent burglary attempt.

NORWALK, CT — Police said five teenagers, two of which were juveniles, have been charged in a recent burglary attempt. The incident occurred Monday at approximately 4:53 p.m. and likely stemmed from a drug debt owed to one of the suspects, police said.

Police said officers from the Patrol Division responded to reports of an attempted burglary at a residence on Hadik Parkway. Arriving officers determined the suspects had fled the scene prior to their arrival, however officers were able obtain a description of the suspects and the vehicle, according to a release.

The unidentified homeowner who reported the incident said the suspects attempted to force open two exterior doors but were unable to gain entry into the residence, police said. A short time later, officers located the suspected vehicle stopped along Midwood Road, police said.

Officers initially arrested two of the suspects for the burglary attempt, however all five were eventually arrested after officers located a loaded .45 caliber pistol during a search of the vehicle, police said.

Police said two of the suspects were juveniles, age 16 and 17. Both suspects were charged with carrying a pistol without a permit and weapon in a motor vehicle, police said.

The suspects Ryan Vetrella, Donald Allen and Joshua Meckley, all 18 and of Norwalk, were charged with criminal attempt at burglary, weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, and criminal mischief among other charges.

Police said the Norwalk Detective Bureau assisted with the investigation.
